Clouds over Mooresville, NC June 1, 2024 – Cloud Seeding the Sky, Episode 8

The sky was a great blue and the trails behind the planes were extremely visible. You can see the planes criss-crossing the sky and even running parallel flight paths leaving trails of something.

You can see in the pictures how the sky becomes cloudy and provides an interesting glow around the sun.

Clouds over Mooresville, NC May 31, 2024 – Cloud Seeding the Sky, Episode 7

I moved the GoPro around in my backyard to keep if from overheating. At the 7 minute mark, the wispy clouds become thick. At the 7:26 mark, perfect lines across the sky start appearing and blending into the wispy clouds. Is this normal? Things start getting busy at the 9 minute mark with lots of perfect, straight-line clouds crossing the sky sequence and perfectly parallel – because that’s totally normal.

Clouds over Mooresville, NC May 30, 2024 – Cloud Seeding the Sky, Episode 6

May 30th started off with a beautiful blue sky. I shot this video from my backyard. For most of the morning, the sky was pure blue. I was able to catch some planes with short contrails. About two minutes into the video, the clouds started rolling in. Puffy, billowing clouds with exciting edges rolling in…

Clouds over Mooresville, NC May 29, 2024 – Cloud Seeding the Sky, Episode 5

I’m back in Mooresville shooting from the narrow constraints of the backyard of my townhome. The day started off picture perfect with nothing but blue North Carolina skys. Nothing much happened in the sky today. It was just gorgeous. I was able to catch two planes near the end of the video with short Contrails….

Cloud Seeding The Sky Episode 4 May 2024

Clouds over Snowshoe, WV May 27, 2024 – Cloud Seeding the Sky, Episode 4

This was Kim and my last day at Snowshoe Mountain Ski Resort for the weekend. We woke up to stormy clouds and rain (which we love). The clouds rolled through all morning and some sneak peaks of blue skys appeared in the afternoon. I turned the camera off around 4pm so I could start my drive back to Charlotte.

Cloud Seeding the Sky Episode 3 May 2024

Clouds over Snowshoe Mountain Ski Resort, WV May 26, 2024 – Cloud Seeding the Sky, Episode 3

May 26th, 2024 was a beautiful day at Snowshoe Mountain Ski resort.

The morning started off with blue skies. I was able to catch one plane with a long lasting trail and that was it. Makes you wonder where all the plane went?

The clouds built in the afternoon. What was interesting to me was the different layers of movement. The natural building puffy clouds move in a different direction than the upper layer of thin clouds. Maybe an expert can leave some comments to explain how and why this happens?

Cloud Seeding the Sky Episode 2 May 2024

Clouds over Snowshoe Mountain Ski Resort, Virginia May 25, 2024 – Cloud Seeding the Sky, Episode 2

It’s a great place to get some great timelapses of the sky. The skies were pretty angry on the 25th with rain storms rolling in an out over the mountain.
At the beginning of the video, I did catch a few plans with short Contrails.
What’s interesting is that what I consider to be normal clouds randomly form and are puffy. There’s a layer above these clouds that looks totally different.
