Australian Snow Cloud Seeding Program Ends Due To Above Average Weather

Snowy Hydro began its cloud seeding program in the New South Wales Snowy Mountains two decades ago and it is coming to an end. The operation boosted the production of hydroelectricity by pumping over 300 kilograms of silver iodide into storm clouds.
The program was made permanent in 2013 after it increased snowfall by an average of 14%. However, warmer than average temperatures last winter and fewer cold fronts impacted their ability to continue.
